New York: An American man was accused of snoring loudly by his neighbour, who even filed a noise complaint.
The two had an argument, and it ended with the angry 55-year-old killing his neighbour.
The 55-year-old man in Pennsylvania, US, identified as Christopher Casey, was arrested and charged with third-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his neighbour to death as they engaged in an argument.
According to The Independent, police got calls about a stabbing incident on the evening of January 15.
On reaching the site, cops found 62-year-old Robert Wallace in a bad state, around 50 feet from his residence, having suffered multiple stab wounds.
Wallace was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
There must have been a scuffle, as the accused also suffered a stab wound to his right thigh.
Investigation revealed that police knew the two men because of their ongoing tiff over Casey’s loud snoring, which the victim had claimed he could hear through the shared wall of their two homes.
On the day of the fatal altercation, Wallace turned up at Casey’s residence when the latter was having dinner and removed the screen from his window, which was accessible from the porch.
A verbal duel followed before Casey, in a fit of rage ,allegedly used a large, military-style knife to stab Wallace several times.
Blood was found both inside and outside the house. Police also found the knife used in the crime.
Casey was arrested two days later after a forensic pathologist determined Wallace’s cause of death was multiple stab wounds, and ruled that the death was homicide.
