Man Kills Son, Commits Suicide In Bargarh

Bargarh: Panic gripped Pahadasirida village under Attabira Police Station limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Sunday morning when an old man committed suicide after killing his son.

Sources said Pinki Subbarao (56) had a long-standing land dispute with his father Pinki Bariha (75). The duo had frequent altercations over the matter.

On Sunday morning, the father and the son had a heated exchange of words on the issue. In a fit of rage, Bariha attacked his son with an axe killing him on the spot.

Soon after the incident, Bariha went inside a room of his house and committed suicide after hanging himself from the ceiling of the roof.

Following information, a team of policemen from Attabira Police Station rushed to the village for an on-the-spot investigation.

The bodies were later taken for post-mortem.
