Nabarangpur: A man in allegedly killed his wife suspecting her to be having extra-marital affair in the district on Tuesday.
According to sources, Biplab Mandal of Umerkote area of the district used to have frequent fight with his wife Chumki Mandal accusing her of having relationship with another man though the latter strongly refuted it.
On Tuesday morning, the couple were engaged in a heated exchange of words over the issue. In a rage of anger, Biplab hit Chumki with a stone leading to her death on the spot.
Later, Biplab surrendered before Umerkote police and confessed to the crime. The police arrested him and registered a murder case. Further investigation is on.
