Jagatsinghpur: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife with a spear at Jakoti Balarampur village in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.
The incident reportedly took place late Saturday night at the village located under the jurisdiction of Jagatsinghpur Sadar Police Station.
After receiving information, Sadar police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for post-mortem examination.
The accused, identified as Digambar Swain alias Badal, has been taken into custody by the police.
According to police, Badal allegedly asked his wife Pushpalata for money from her Subhadra assistance to buy liquor. When she refused to give him the money, he allegedly became furious and attacked her with a spear, resulting in her death.
Police said the accused has reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the murder.
