Man Murders Ex-Girlfriend With Spanner On Busy Mumbai Road

New Delhi: A 28-year-old man on Tuesday beat his ex-girlfriend to death with a spanner on a busy road near Mumbai. The accused, Rohit Yadav, was seen chasing his ex Arti Yadav with a spanner. It is speculated that he suspected that she had moved on to a new relationship after breaking off with him. The video of the same is going viral on social media.

As per the CCTV visuals, Rohit is seen chasing Aarti with a spanner and repeatedly hitting her head and chest. The video shows Aarti walking on a road full of pedestrians when Rohit runs up behind her and strikes her on the head with a spanner. A man is seen trying to stop Rohit. However, the accused pushes him away and threatens to hit him with the spanner. The man backs off, following which no one attempted to stop the attack.

According to police, the incident took place early in the morning in Vasai’s East Chinchpada area when Aarti Yadav was heading to work, News18 reported.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter. Rohit has been arrested and charged with murder.

Meanwhile, the victim had on Saturday registered a case against the accused because he had broken her phone and hit her in a fit of rage, the report added quoting sources. The case was registered at Achola Police Station, Nalasopara.

It has been learnt that following the complaint from Aarti, the cops had counselled Rohit.
