This was more than a pleasant surprise!
After all, who would not want to receive an iPhone after ordering just a bag of apples?
When 50-year-old Nick James went to collect his order from departmental store Tesco Extra in England, members of staff told him there was a “surprise” in his bag. James checked what it meant and found that he had got a free iPhone SE.
As it turned out, it was part of a ‘super substitutes’ promotion.
“A big thanks to Tesco and Tesco Mobile. On Wednesday evening we went to pick up our order and had a little surprise in there — an Apple iPhone SE! Apparently we ordered apples and randomly got an apple iPhone! Made my son’s week!” James said.
“I was half expecting the surprise to be an Easter egg or something – I was a little bit shocked to say the least,” he was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
Apart from Apple iPhones, Tesco is also giving AirPods and Samsung devices to randomly selected customers as part of a ‘super substitutes’ promotion this week.
