Man Posing As Army Officer Held While Entering Puri Jagannath Temple



Puri: A man was detained after he allegedly attempted to enter the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri by impersonating an Army officer on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Upendra Purohit, reportedly hails from Rajasthan. He was allegedly dressed in Army uniform when he arrived at the temple.

According to sources, the Enforcement Squad of the shrine became suspicious during his entry and stopped him. After verification, it was found that the man was allegedly impersonating an Army officer.

The man was later handed over to the police for further questioning and investigation. Singhadwar Police detained the individual and initiated an investigation into the matter. Efforts are on to ascertain the motive behind the man’s visit to the 12th century shrine in fake Army outfit.
