Man Rapes Physically-Challenged Niece In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Rairangpur: In a shameful act, a man allegedly raped his physically-challenged minor niece in Kuldiha village under Gorumahisani police limits of Mayurbhanj district.

As per reports, the minor girl was playing with her minor brother outside and their family members were winnowing paddy when the incident occurred.

The accused, her father’s brother, took her inside the house and raped her. He threatened the victim not to disclose about the incident.

However, the victim’s brother revealed it to the family. Following, an altercation the accused even attacked the victim’s mother following which the latter lodged a written complaint at Gorumahisani police station.

The police arrested the accused uncle. During the course of investigation into the incident, the accused was found to be a juvenile.

A police team led by IIC PK Swain is currently probing the matter.
