Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri Police are on the hunt for four miscreants who had opened fire on a person near Khandagiri Bari here late on Sunday.
According to police, Pritam Jenamani of Patrapada was on the way to his house when four miscreants followed him and brushed against his vehicle near Khandagiri Square. As Pritam chased them and drove in front of their vehicle, the miscreants suddenly opened four rounds of fire on him in which one bullet hit his right shoulder. Later, they fled the area.
Following information, police rushed to the spot and admitted Pritam to a private hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Pritam had obtained a lease tender of the tourist bus stand at Khandagiri Bari, which had upset his rivals. The attack could be the fallout of this dispute.
