Sambalpur: Tension prevailed at Budharaja daily market under Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district on Monday morning after a man sustained grievous bullet injuries after being shot at over alleged past enmity.
The victim has been identified as Mantu Podha, a vegetable vendor in the daily market.
He was hit in the left leg and was immediately rushed to Sambalpur Sadar hospital.
On receiving information, the Aainthapali police reached the spot, and interrogating one of the accused, identified as Siria Jena.
According to the sources, they had an argument over some past dispute. It escalated, following which, Siria fired on Mantu using a country-made pistol.
However, his condition is stated to be stable now.
The police have started further investigation into the matter.
