Ganjam: A man was murdered by unidentified miscreants at Mathasarasingh village under Kodala police limit in Ganjam district on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Rajendra Parida aka Jyoti.
According to sources, he was attacked by four miscreants near J Chhachina village, while having tea. He entered the shop to escape the assault, but was shot at and then stoned to death.
On being informed, the police reached sent the body for postmortem. Four bullets and three guns were seized from the spot. Jyoti had bullet wounds at five places on his body.
Notably, Jyoti was working in Surat and had returned home about 15 days back. His sister-in-law is a village Sarapanch.
The attack is being attributed to past enmity.
The police have started investigation and efforts are on to nab the accused.
