Puri: A man was shot at by a group of assailants near Kathapola in
Puri district on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Gangadhar Bhola, a resident of Batagaan.
Bhola was going somewhere on a motorcycle when a group of seven-eight
unidentified miscreants intercepted his vehicle, opened fire at him
and fled the spot.
Gangadhar, who received gunshot wounds on his right thigh, was rushed
to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical
College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.
Sadar police have started the investigation into the case. The cops
suspect it to be a case of old enmity.
