Man Slits Throat To Appease God In Odisha’s Khurda

Khurda:  In a case of superstition, a man on Thursday allegedly cut his throat with a sharp weapon in order to appease God in a temple in the district.

According to sources, Kabula Behera of Sorana village near Tangi in Khurda district, was worshipping at Shri Chandi Hara Deva Pitha temple in Chandeswar village of the district since Wednesday. During the puja, he cut his throat as part of rituals to appease the God at night.

When the priest opened the temple on Thursday morning, he found Kabula in a pool of blood and informed his family.

Kabula’s family members rushed to the temple and admitted him in a hospital in Tangi. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated.
