Man, Son Arrested For Arms Smuggling In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: Police on Friday arrested a man and his son on the charges of illegal possession and supply of fire arms near the city.

The arrested were identified as Babuli Moharana and his son Somnath Moharana of Panichhatra in Khurda district.

On specific information about transportation of illegal arms, personnel of Choudwar police station reached at the pot on Birupa river road near railway bridge. They spotted Babuli and Somnath carrying revolver and country made pistol and arrested them.

The police seized the 9 mm pistol and a country made revolver, ammunition and Rs 200 cash from their possession, said ASI SK Sahoo of the police station.
