Man, son electrocuted in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: In a tragic incident, a man and his son were electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a high voltage electric wire at Gambharidihi village under Itamati police limits in Nayagarh district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Anantabandhu Mohapatra (68) and his son Bhikari Mohapatra(40).
The mishap occurred when Anantabandhu came in contact with an electric wire which had snapped last night while going to his farmland and died on the spot.
Bhikari was critically injured while trying to save his father. He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Peeved over the incident, a group of irate locals staged a blockade on NH-57 near the hospital by placing the bodies on road and demanded adequate compensation to the family of the deceased.
