Puri: A father-son duo was allegedly hacked to death during a violent altercation with neighbours at Samagara village under Penthakata Marine police limits in Odisha’s Puri district on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Rabi Swain and his son Prakash Swain.
According to sources, the neighbours were at loggerheads over a land dispute. There was a heated argument between Swain and his neighbour Jyoti Pradhan last night. It soon escalated into a physical confrontation with Jyoti and his family members attacking Swain and his son with sharp weapons. Prakash died on the spot. Swain were rushed to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition worsened, but he succumbed to his injuries this morning.
Police have detained two persons for questioning in connection with the incident.
