Angul: A man and his son were killed as their car collided with a truck in Odisha’s Angul district on Monday. The man’s wife and daughter were critically injured in the incident.
According to sources, Prabhas Bose, his wife Sangita, son Pratyush and daughter Swastika of Belpahar in Jharsuguda district had gone in their car to have darshan of Lord Jagannath in Puri. While they were returning after having the darshan, their car met a head-on collision with a coal-laden truck coming from opposite direction at Sargipalli under Handapa police limits in Angul district.
The accident was so severe that, Prabhas and 22-year-old Pratyush died on the spot. Sangita and Swastika sustained critical injuries in the mishap.
On being informed by the locals, police along with Fire Brigade reached the spot. The Fire personnel retrieved the two bodies from badly mangled car. They also rescued Sangita and her daughter from the back seat and sent them to Rairakhol hospital. Later, they were shifted to VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla in Sambalpur as their condition deteriorated.
The police have registered a case and started investigation.
