Sundargarh: Police arrested a man for allegedly killing his brother-in-law for torturing his sister in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Thursday.
As per reports, the accused, identified as Marx Toppo, stabbed his brother-in-law Jayanam Satnami of Rajgangpur in the district. Satnami died due to excessive bleeding on the spot.
Police sources said Marx was informed by his sister several times that Satnami was torturing her over family dispute. Agitated by his brother-in-law’s behaviour, Marx planned to kill him.
As per his plan, Marx went to Rajgangpur and stabbed Satnami with a knife several times. On being informed, police went to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
The accused confessed to the crime during questioning after his arrest, the sources said. The police have registered a case and started further investigation, they added.
