Rourkela: A youth of Phata Pipe area here was stabbed to death by another on Tuesday.
According to reports, the youth identified as Pintu Srivastav was standing near Naya Bazar square with friends when Mahendra Jena of Timber Colony reached there. Jena questioned Srivastav as to why he was standing there and exchange of words followed. An angry Jena pulled out a knife from his pant pocket and attacked Srivastav on the neck and head, leaving him grievously injured, said Additional SP Vikram Keshari Bhoi.
Some locals informed the family, who rushed him to hospital. The doctors declared the youth brought dead at the hospital.
The Additional SP said Jena had undergone jail for 8 months last year in a case registered under Section 307.
Meanwhile, Srivastav’s mother said her son had finished had finished and lunch and went out to work when about 30 minutes later she was informed about the incident. She has demanded justice and death for Jena.
