Man Stranded On Kathajodi River Tower In Kataka Rescued After 2 Hours


Kataka: A man, who got stranded for over two hours on a tower in the middle of the Kathajodi River in Odisha’s Kataka, has been successfully rescued.

According to information, the incident took place on the tower in the river near Ganesh Ghat on Sunday night.

The man has been identified as Sibananda Nayak. He is reported to be a resident of Talabasta village under Banki Police Station.

After receiving information, a team from the Odisha Fire and Emergency Service rushed to the spot. The team members launched a rescue effort and brought him to safety using a power boat after nearly two hours.

Following his rescue, Nayak was handed over to his family members in the presence of police officials.

The exact circumstances in which the man reached the tower and got stranded were yet to be ascertained.
