Bhadrak: Villagers of Dakshina Korua village, under Khadipada panchayat of Bhadrak district, on Saturday retrieved the lifeless body of Hemant Jena on who had been swept away by floodwater.
According to sources, Hemanta had gone out to buy biscuits with two friends. But they hadn’t bargained for the swirling water which had entered the village. While his friends managed to grab hold of trees to save themselves, Hemanta was not so lucky.
Locals searched for him and fished out his body with the help of banana tree trunks after great difficulty.
