Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police here on Thursday detained a man for allegedly misbehaving with a woman inside an autorickshaw.
The incident took place in Palaspalli area at about 12.30 pm.
According to sources, the woman was travelling in an autorickshaw when the man sitting next to her suddenly started misbehaving with her and tried to snatch the gold chain she was wearing.
The woman asked the driver to stop the vehicle and raised an alarm, following which locals tied the man to a pole and severely thrashed him.
On being informed, Airfield police rushed to the spot and took the accused to the police station for interrogation.
