Man Thrashes Wife To Death For Dancing During Neighbour’s Wedding In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly thrashed his wife to death following a heated argument in Oupada area of Odisha’s Balasore district.

Sources said the man got infuriated and attacked his wife, identified as Sharmila Singh (30), after she reportedly danced during the wedding celebrations of a neighbour. The accused was identified as Ramachandra Singh (35).

The incident took place in Paikapada village under the jurisdiction of Oupada police station on Saturday night when the accused expressed his annoyance over the woman’s participation in the dance and a heated exchange ensued between the two.

In a fit of rage, the accused started thrashing Sharmila and hit her with an iron rod. The woman sustained critical injuries in the attack and died on the spot.

On getting the information, a police team from Oupada rushed to the spot and seized the body which was sent for postmortem.

The police have also detained Ramchandra and launched an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited.
