Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly thrashed his wife to death in front of their five-year-old daughter near Tankapani Road in the Odisha capital on Friday night.
The accused has been identified as Soubhagya Ranjan Dash. He works as an ambulance driver.
According to sources, Soubhagya tied the knot for the second time with Lilly in 2018. The couple had since been staying in Basuaghai under Saheed Nagar police limits, along with Soubhagya’s father. Last night, the accused first attacked his father over some family feud but he managed to escape and Lily had to bear the brunt of his anger. He went on beating her and she failed to survive the attack. What was more disturbing was the fact that the little girl witnessed the entire incident.
While police have detained Soubhagya, his father claimed that he is mentally unstable.
