Sambalpur: Three persons of a family were swept away by strong currents in Mahanadi river, where they had gone to take a bath in Sambalpur district on Monday.
According to reports, Md Altaf and his minor children, son Md Aftab and daughter Ruksana Parveen of Pensionpada had gone to Daleipada ghat of the river for a bath when the girl slipped and fell from a height of 30 feet. To rescue the girl, who is aged around 13, her father and brother (15) dived into the waters but they too got swept away.
Till the reports last came in the 15-year-old boy has been rescued in an unconscious state and rushed to a local hospital while the father and daughter are still missing.
A search operation is on by the fire fighting personnel to trace them.
