Bhopal: A mastermind of the attack on film director Prakash Jha and his unit last month on the set of web series Ashram in Bhopal is a leader of the Bajrang Dal and previously convicted of murder, reported NDTV.
The Prant Pramukh (regional head) of the Bhopal Unit of the right-wing outfit, Suresh Sudele was one of the seven men arrested by the police for the attack on the sets of Ashram.
All seven, including Sudele, were granted bail a day later. According to the police, they are not to be blamed as the Ashram team didn’t want to file a complaint.
Sudele and others were booked under relatively minor sections of the law and that ensured their bail on the first day.
However, Sudele has a violent past that seems to have escaped the cops’ attention. He was convicted for the murder of a Bhopal-based businessman, Bhagchand, in 2011 and got bail four years later.
According to legal experts, police should have immediately moved the court to get Sudele’s bail on the murder case cancelled after the attack on film director Prakash Jha. State Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra refused to respond to a question on the matter.
