Mumbai: The man who issued the latest death threat to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been traced to Waghodia region of Vadodara district in Gujarat.
The suspect, a 26-year-old man who two days ago threatened to sneak into Salman’s Mumbai residence and plant a bomb in his car, has been found to be mentally unstable, stated a report in The Hindu.
Mumbai Police has issued a notice to the man, summoning him to appear before them within 2-3 days.
A case has also been registered against him under section 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
“A team of Mumbai police, accompanied by Waghodia police, reached the suspect’s house at a village in Waghodia on Monday. However, it turned out that the 26-year-old man, who had sent the message, is mentally unstable and his treatment is also going on,” district Superintendent of Police Rohan Anand told reporters.
“The Mumbai police served him a notice for appearance and left,” the official added.
Following the death threat, security has been beefed up outside the actor’s Galaxy Apartment.
In April last year, two motorbike-borne miscreants fired four rounds outside the actor’s house and fled.
Earlier, Salman had faced similar threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang over the alleged killing of a blackbuck, following which Mumbai police provided him with Y-plus security.
