Cuttack: A 52-year-old man, who had immolated himself outside the Kishan Nagar police station in Salepur area of Odisha’s Cuttack on Thursday, died of burns on Friday.
Gunanidhi Bisoi of Sainparua was admitted at a private hospital, where he died.
Bisoi, who was allegedly thrashed by his nephew over a property dispute, had set himself ablaze in front of the police station at around 11 am on Thursday.
He had lodged a complaint at the Kishan Nagar police station. According to reports, he took the extreme step over police inaction on his complaint.
The accused has now been arrested. Cuttack Rural SP B Jugal Kishore has also written to the Odisha DGP recommending action against the IIC of the police station.
