Titlagarh: Panic gripped Titlagarh town in Odisha’s Balangir district after the manager of the Utkal Gramya Bank’s Bijepur branch was shot at by three unidentified miscreants inside the bank on Friday afternoon.
The injured manager, Kailash Chandra Dora, who sustained two bullet injuries on his stomach was rushed to the sub-divisional hospital. He was then shifted to the district headquarters hospital as his condition deteriorated.
The incident took place around 2.30 pm.
Before his shifting to the district headquarters hospital, the bank manager told the media that the three miscreants wearing masks asked him for a loan. But since it was the lunch hour, he told them to come on the next day and gave them the loan form. Suddenly, the miscreants asked him to hand over the bank locker key. But as he refused, one of them opened two rounds of fire at him.
They later fled the area.
Meanwhile, police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the miscreants.
