Mandatory 7-Day Paid Quarantine For International Travellers Arriving At Delhi Airport

New Delhi: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the airport authority has issued guidelines saying all passengers arriving at the Delhi airport will have mandatory 7-day paid institutional quarantine. This will be followed by one week of home quarantine.

According to the guidelines, the international passengers arriving in the country will have to sign undertaking to accept the obligation before their booking is confirmed. The overseas mission/embassy will retain the undertaking.

Moreover, the passengers will have to go through health screening at the airport soon after arrival. The second round of screening will be done by a Delhi government hospital before they proceed for the paid quarantine followed by the home quarantine.

According to authority, pregnant women, ones who suffered death in family, ones suffering from serious illness and parents accompanying children below 10 years will be exempted from this.

“Passengers arriving on an international Vande Bharat Mission flight may only take a connecting domestic flight if it also comes under the Vande Bharat Mission. However, passengers who are planning to board onward domestic flights will have to obtain an authorised exemption certificate, if they are coming through non-Vande Bharat international flights,” the authority added.
