Bhubaneswar: The headmasters of schools in Odisha will now have to take at least two classes daily.

The School and Mass Education department on Monday said as headmaster is the most experienced and qualified person in a school, she/he should take at least 2 classes daily.

The department also directed the District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure that headmasters or headmistresses take up the duty of imparting classes besides supervising the routine works and being taken by other teachers.

The decision was taken as Principal Secretary during his visit to the schools observed that headmasters in different districts were not taking classes but were engaged in school management and other coordination matters.
