Kalahandi: After almost a gap of over three months, Manikeswari temple in Odisha’s Kalahandi district reopened for devotees on Saturday.
According to sources, a decision to reopen the shrine was taken following a discussion between Kalahandi Maharaj (king) and the district administration.
It is mandatory for servitors and devotees to wear a mask and maintain social distance inside the temple premises.
Notably, the state government, while announcing the unlock guidelines on July 30, had left the decision to reopen religious places on the respective municipal commissioners and district collectors.
