Puri: Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey offered puja in Maa Mangala temple at Kakatpur in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday.
The Governor, who is on a visit to Odisha, arrived in the temple town in the morning. She went to Jagannath temple and had darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Then she proceeded to Kakatpur on road amid security. She was welcomed by the executive officer (EO) of the Mangala temple administration and taken inside the temple.
Uikey offered obeisance before the presiding deity of Kakatpur in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and went around the premises.
Speaking to the media after visiting the temple, she said, “I offered prayer to the Goddess for peace and prosperity of the people of Manipur.” She then returned to Bhubaneswar in the evening.
