Bhubaneswar: Constable Prasanna Behera, earlier arrested for allegedly running a bar without a valid licence, violating COVID-19 rules and hatching a criminal conspiracy, has been dismissed from Odisha Police.
The official notice said Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar has dismissed Behera with immediate effect. Eight departmental proceedings and 5 criminal cases are pending against him.
Behera, who was running the South City bar on a lease, was suspended on Friday for keeping the bar operational till late at night. He is also the president of Havildar and Constable Association here.
