Manish Sisodia On CBI Raids: ‘BJP’s Issue Not Corruption, But Arvind Kejriwal’

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who has been named as No. 1 accused by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy case, hit out at the BJP again on Saturday.

The senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader claimed that the saffron party’s real issue is not corruption but Arvind Kejriwal.

“Their issue is not corruption, their issue is Arvind Kejriwal. But no matter how much they try, no matter how many conspiracies they make up, the 2024 election will be between Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal,” Sisodia said in a tweet.

“A conspiracy is being hatched to put Kejriwal’s Education minister (Sisodia) and Health minister (Satyendar Jain) in jail on false charges,” he added, referring to his cabinet colleague’s arrest in a money-laundering case.

Sisodia further said that if the issue really was corruption, CBI would have been probing the Rs 14,000-crore ‘scam’ linked to the construction of Bundelkhand Expressway, a portion of which collapsed within days of inauguration.

“If the issue was to stop the corruption of the liquor mafia, then the first raid by the CBI would have been in Gujarat,” Sisodia added.

Earlier in the day, Sisodia claimed that the Modi-headed Central government is scared of Kejriwal, who is emerging as a “national alternative” to the Prime Minister.

“The 2024 Lok Sabha polls will be a battle between Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It will be AAP vs BJP,” Sisodia remarked, adding that CBI raids are a means to stop Kejriwal’s rise.

He also predicted that CBI or the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will arrest him in the next three to four days.

CBI officials conducted searches and raids at Sisodia’s residence and 29 other locations in connection with an FIR registered for alleged corruption in implementation of Delhi excise policy 2021.
