Bhubaneswar: Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Manoranjan Panigrahi has assumed additional charge as the Principal Chief Income Tax Commissioner of Odisha.
Panigrahi, who took charge on Monday, will discharge his duty in Odisha together with Bihar and Jharkhand, official sources said on Tuesday.
A 1988 batch IRS officer, Panigrahi was earlier holding additional charge in West Bengal and Sikkim.
Panigrahi was earlier the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax in Cuttack and served as the Secretary of Odisha Culture, Information and Public Relations Department. He was in the post for five years.
