Kendujhar: The body of a man was recovered from a drain near Jail Chhack under town police station limits in Keonjhar district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmidhar Majhi, a clerk at the local work’s department.
The incident to light when a passer-by spotted the body in the drain and informed the police.
Soon a police team reached the spot and started investigation.
“A motorcycle and a pair of shoes have been recovered from the crime scene. The area was inspected and the body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of the person’s death”, a police officer said.
However, some locals suspect that the victim, who was riding a motorcycle, lost control over the vehicle and fell into the drain.
