Dantewada: Four persons, including a security personnel, were killed when an improvised explosive device tore through a bus near Bacheli area in poll-bound Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Thursday.
The incident took place while the civilian bus, which was given to CISF for election duty, was on its way to Bacheli from Akashnagar to purchase vegetables. An IED suspected to have been set up by Maoists exploded when the bus passed over it on a zigzag hillside road.
Three civilians and one CISF constable were killed. Two more CISF personnel injured in the blast were rushed to a hospital nearby.
The attack took place a few days after a Doordarshan cameraman from Odisha was killed in a Maoist ambush in the same region.
The first-phase elections in Chhattisgarh are scheduled for November 12.
