Maoist Camp Busted In Odisha’s Malkangiri: Explosives Seized

Malkangiri: A Maoist camp has been busted atop Tulsi hill under Mathili police station limits of malkangiri district.

According to police sources, Maoist cadres are reported to have assembled at Tulsi hill on the night of October 14. On receipt of reliable information about the presence of CPI-Maoists, the Special Operation Group (SOG), District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Border Security Forces (BSF) launched a joint combing operation on the camp on October 15 leading to exchange of fire.

The Maoists are reported to have fired at the troops.on seeing the forces which led to a retaliation. The exchange of fire continued for over an hour before which the Maoists deserted the camp.

The forces found huge explosives, Maoist literature, eight detonators, a 12-Volte battery, kit bags, medicines and uniforms on the spot. The Maoists are reported to have fled the hill towards Chhattisgarh border.

According to Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Prahallad Sahay Mina, another operation has been launched along the borders.
