Sundagarh: The security personnel busted a maoist camp following an exchange of fire near Lunga hills in Bonai of Sundargarh district on Sunday.
A huge amount of daily use items, explosive materials and kit bags were recovered from the spot.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Special Operation Group and District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel carried out the operation around 11 pm on Saturday when they spotted the Maoist camp. The team started surrounding the place following which the ultras opened fire. Following an exchange of fire from both sides, the rebels fled the spot, a police officer said.
No casualties were reported on either side during the gunfight, which lasted for five hours. The area has been sealed and search operation is underway, the officer added.
