Bhubaneswar: Security forces have busted an explosive dump of Maoists and recovered huge number of arms and ammunitions in a forest in Koraput district.
A team of District Voluntary Force (DVF) of Odisha Police along with bomb detection and disposal squad was engaged in anti-Maoist operation in the reserve forest areas of Kendaborigi, Mangalpur and Atmakonda under Narayanpur police station on Thursday when they came across the dump.
After cordoning off the area, the operation party searched the dump and found a large number of arms, ammunition and explosive materials used for making tiffin bombs, according to a press release.
The security forces seized 6 single barrel muzzle loading (SBML) guns, 205 pipes for SBML guns, 50 gelatin sticks, 2 claymore mines, 3 tiffin bombs and 3 kg of iron splinters from the spot.
