Maoists Blow Up Road In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Maoists allegedly blew up a portion of newly constructed road connecting Bicharapakhna and Hantalaguda in Malkangiri district on Saturday evening.

The blast came just a few hours after Security Advisor in the Union Home Ministry, K Vijay Kumar, visited the area to review security situation.

Police sources said the Red rebels carried out the landmine explosion through a remotely controlled device to apparently target security personnel. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The sources said CRPF personnel have intensified their operations in the area following the blast.
