Nuapada: The Maoists have demanded the release of a woman cadre who is still detained by the police in Odisha’s Nuapada district after her surrender a week ago.
The demand of the Red Rebels has been made through the posters found in Nilaji and Karlakhamar villages under Sinapali police station.
The ultras have said that Sumitra Dharua, a woman cadre Maoist, had surrendered before the Nuapada police a week ago. Despite her surrender, she is still detained by the police.
Besides, they have also demanded immediate release of another cadre Makran Paharia from the jail.
Meanwhile, a cyclist was electrocuted in the morning on Monday after he came in contact with a snapped live wire which had fallen on a tree.
Sources said the Maoists, as a mark of protest against the detention of the cadre woman Maoist had fell some trees at some places between Gorla-Karlakhamar Road on Sunday. As a result, live wires of some electric poles got snapped and fell on these fallen trees.
