Paikmal: Suspected Maoist posters have surfaced at many villages under Paikmal block in Odisha’s Bargarh district, urging people to observe the Martyr’s Week from July 28 to August 3.
The posters along with handwritten letters in Odia and Hindi were found along the road near Rural Development Division office near the bus stand in Jamseth area of Paikmal.
In the letters, the CPI (Maoist)’s Balangir-Bargarh-Mahasmund division has urged people to commemorate the martyrdom of Charu Mazumdar and work towards accomplishing the unfulfilled goals of overcoming the tyranny of Brahmanical Hinduism and paving the way for a social revolution.
The pamphlets also urged people to avenge the death of slain Maoists and observe the Shaheed Diwas in their memory.
While the posters have created panic among the people, security has been beefed up in the Maoist-hit areas to prevent any subversive activities in the coming days.
