Malkangiri: A man was allegedly shot by Maoists at Kurub village under Kalimela police limits in Malkangiri district late on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Dambaru Nayak.
According to reports, a group of 20-25 armed ultras barged into Nayak’s house, dragged him out and took him to a ‘praja court’ trail. Later, he was shot in front of other villagers on charges of being a police informer.
Nayak, who was a Maoist supporter, had surrendered before police around two years ago.
The ultras had earlier warned the villagers against surrendering or becoming police informers.
