Maoists kill sarpanch in Koraput

Koraput: Maoist brutally killed the sarpanch of Nandapur panchayat in Koraput district, suspecting him to be a police informer, late on Monday.
According to reports, a group of 50 armed ultras barged into the house of the sarpanch, identified as Jaga Khara, dragged him out and slit his throat, killing him on the spot.
The Maoists torched a car, one tractor and a jeep belonging to Khara before fleeing the spot.
Soon after getting information, police rushed to the spot this morning and started investigation. Search operation has been launched in the area to nab the assailants.
A handwritten letter, where Khara was branded as police informer, was recovered near the body.
