Malkangiri: After a brief lull, the Maoists have again resorted to violence with the killing of a tribal of Orapadar village in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
However, identity of the villager is yet to be ascertained.
Sources said a group of 20 armed Maoists reached Orapadar village of Andrapalli Panchayat in the cut-off area of Chitrakonda block late on Monday and called out to a villager. Later, they took him to an area on the outskirts of the village and killed him by slitting his throat.
The villagers found the body on Wednesday morning and informed police.
On Sunday night, the ultras had abducted another villager of the same village. The whereabouts of the abducted villager is not yet known, sources added.
