Rayagada: Suspected Maoists have put up posters at Parasali area under Kalyansinghpur block of Rayagada district, asking people to observe ‘Black Day’ on Wednesday as the country celebrates its 72nd Independence Day.
While a poster was found pasted on the wall of an anganwadi centre, another three were recovered from a market area. These have created panic among the people.
According to sources, these posters have been issued by the CPI (Maoist).
Combing operations have been intensified in Kalyansinghpur block and other nearby areas following the incident.
The Maoists have been indulging in sabotage and subversive activities in the neighbouring state in the recent past and a video clip showing Maoists armed with modern weapons undergoing training at Derlapali area of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh is now doing the rounds on social media.
Police investigation into the matter is underway.
