Maoists Set 24 Vehicles Afire Along Odisha Border

Malkangiri: Maoists on Friday set as many as 24 vehicles afire at Kistaram forest near Malkangiri border to protest the death of a rebel in a police encounter.

According to reports, a group of armed ultras reached a construction site and torched several vehicles including 18 tractors, three cranes and a road roller.
On Thursday, a Naxal identified as Madvi Bandi was gunned down during a joint operation by security forces in a forest area at Sukma in Chhattisgarh.
Following the encounter, 12 guns, a rifle, live cartridges and other explosives were recovered from the spot.
