Malkangiri: Suspected Maoists set fire to a bus going to Hyderabad from Odisha near Kutur village under Chintoor police station in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday night.
Hundreds of Maoists, who were hiding in the nearby jungles, blocked the road and then set the bus on fire. The incident occurred during the bandh called by Maoists in the Dandakaranya area.
The passengers, numbering 40-50, were asked to get down after which the Maoists set fire to the empty bus. No passenger was harmed. The passengers were from Nabarangpur district in Odisha.
Traffic was disrupted on the route following the incident. Chintoor police have reached the spot.
